Sunsquabi
Sunsquabi
There’s a place, deep in the cosmos, where jam bands and electronic dance music intersect with rhythm-driven funk. You’ll feel like you’re floating here but not lost completely to the atmospheric elements. Instead, you’re tethered to an avant-garde spaceship with Colorado-based SunSquabi on the frequency. This cosmic wonderland is a melting pot of a variety of musical genres and it represents the future of music.
A three-piece suit - SunSquabi has been catching the eyes and ears of music fans around the world with their ever-evolving sound in the studio and on the live stage. SunSquabi has gained national attention for their unique way of producing music. The band’s live show can be described as an ‘Electronic Hydro Funk Experience’ that is different every single time out. SunSquabi continues to break down and analyze the expectations of what a “Live-Electronic” band should be. The band unveiled their debut EP with All Good Records, titled, ‘Odyssey’ which featured artists GRiZ and Dominic Lalli of Big Gigantic. Their 2nd EP ‘Deluxe’ was a sophomore success with the label that continued where Odyssey left off. The band has now released 2 singles ‘Just A Little’ and ‘Caterpillar’ ahead of their upcoming 2018 release.
Combining the talents of Kevin Donohue (guitars/keys/production) Josh Fairman (bassist/synth) and Chris Anderson (drums). This project is a disciplined and structured group. It takes a seasoned musician to stay in the pocket for the sake of building well-developed lines and climaxes. To do that seamlessly requires patience and skill. “It’s kinda like breathing, honestly. We can communicate directly with each other both verbally and non-verbally, onstage and off.” That connection will take the music collectively where we all want to go.” – Kevin Donohue
Michal Menert
Michal Menert
Anchor Bay, California based electronic music artist and producer Michal Menert draws breath from the world that surrounds him, transmuting daily inspiration into music that is singularly his own.

“A synthesis of past, present, and future, elegantly woven together by the hands of Michal Menert.” – Huffington Post on Space Jazz

A youth steeped in a broad swath of both Eastern and Western musical traditions gives Menert a deep palate from which to draw; his passion for original analog sounds coupled with a vast knowledge of music history has given him a unique ability to pull from the global creative canon with ease. A multi-instrumentalist, he incorporates live guitar and keys into his final production for a full sound and rich feel.

As Menert co-produced the chart topping Pretty Lights album Taking Up Your Precious Time it was natural that he was the first artist to join Pretty Lights Music. His debut solo album Dreaming of a Bigger Life was released in 2010, followed by 2012’s mega-LP Even If It Isn’t Right. In winter of 2015 Menert released the highly anticipated Space Jazz, followed by fall 2015’s debut release by his band Michal Menert & the Pretty Fantastics, 1. His next release is expected in winter 2018.

In the live realm, Menert supplied sound design for Dead & Co tours in 2016 and 2017. Additionally, he supplied sound design on Mickey Hart’s Planet Drum rerelease in Fall 2016. Building on that relationship, Menert in both a featured performer and co-producer on Hart’s next studio record, slated for release in the fall of 2017.

Menert’s reputation as a live performer continues to grow, as he brings his music to fans nationwide via both his septet, Michal Menert & The Pretty Fantastics, and his 22-piece all-star ensemble the Michal Menert Big Band. His collaborations have led to the formation of ongoing side projects including Manic Menert (with Manic Focus), Half Color (with Paul Basic) & Club Scouts (with Mux Mool). Over the years Menert has shared the stage with a number of musical luminaries including STS9, Bassnectar, Umphrey’s McGee, and more, and played legendary venues including the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver, The Gorge in Washington and the Red Rocks Amphitheatre (twice in 2016 alone.)

Committed to a community driven approach to collaborative creativity, Menert works hand in hand with producers he chooses for his own record label, Super Best Records. A dynamic and ideological producer, collaborating and working closely with a new generation of hip-hop & EDM producers, Menert is dedicated to bringing a new musical vision to life free from limitation.
Yak Attack
Yak Attack will make you dance. Founded in Portland, OR in 2013, the live electronica quartet has been making waves in the local scene and expanding its fan base regionally in its short history. Rowan Cobb (bass), Dave Dernovsek (keys) and Devin Weston (drums) combine skilled playing with live looping and effects, resulting in expansive sonic terrain and heightened peaks well beyond the capabilities of most live trios. In 2015, the group added Nick Werth (percussion/xylosynth) to the Yak herd. Nick is a fantastic musician and human being who also performs as solo hip-hop/loop artist GALAXE, and has opened up a whole new dimension of sound and live performance elements for the band. Electronic and traditional genres including house, breakbeat, downtempo, jazz, and funk, tight compositions seamlessly blended with improvisation, and frequent contributions from guest musicians define a typical Yak show. The band released its first full-length album in 2015, "Real World Conditions", and will soon be bringing its unique mix of live chops, electronic techniques, and monkey noises to a venue near you.
